Patna: In a controversial statement, JD(U) leader Narendra Singh said on Sunday that Narendra Modi was the biggest terrorist in the country and that the BJP was involved with the blasts in Patna which took place on October 27, as per reports.

It was reported that while talking to the media in Jamui, Bihar`s Agriculture Minister said that as the BJP`s prime ministerial candidate for 2014 General Elections was country`s biggest terrorist, it was only natural that he talked about threat to the country from terrorists.

"One who kills others feels threatened and always moves around security in the fear of being killed," said the JD(U) leader.

Further attacking the BJP, Narendra Singh accused the party of being involved in the serial blasts in Patna and said that the demand for enhanced security for the Gujarat Chief Minister was only a publicity stunt.

He maintained that the BJP had vested interests in ensuring that the blasts took place and accused them of having links with the accused.

Serial blasts had rocked the capital of Bihar ahead of Modi`s massive Hunkar rally in which six people were killed and more then eighty injured. The BJP however went ahead with the rally and later accused the Nitish Kumar government of not providing adequate security for Modi`s rally. Modi too later on charged the Bihar administration for security lapses.

However, Nitish said that there had been no lapses on the part of the state government and all the arrangements were in place for Modi`s rally.

After the blasts, the BJP had demanded PM like security for the Gujarat CM and had asked for elite Special Protection Group (SPG). At present Modi has Z-category security and is guarded by the Gujarat police and the National Security Guard (NSG).

Earlier this year, JD(U) ended its 17-year alliance with the BJP with Nitish refusing to accept Modi`s growing importance in his party.

Meanwhile, in another controversial statement in August this year, Narendra Singh had said that according to him Pakistan was not involved in the killing of five Indian soldiers along the Line of Control and had called the neighbouring country India`s younger brother.
