Nitish Kumar's 'Sampark Yatra' to begin today

Former Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar will kickstart 'Sampark Yatra' from Bettiah in West Champaran on Thursday.

Patna: Former Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar will kickstart 'Sampark Yatra' from Bettiah in West Champaran on Thursday.

This will be Nitish's first tour after demitting chief minister's office.

The tour is being launched in a bid to prepare the party for the Assembly polls due to be held in the state next year.

According to party leaders, the 'Sampark Yatra' will help them to connect with the people at the grassroot level and prepare workers to meet the challenges.

Nitish will hold as many as 32 public meetings during the tour which will continue till the end of the month and cover all districts of the state.

The senior JD(U) leader had embarked on three 'yatras' across Bihar during his tenure as the state chief minister - Vikas Yatra in 2009, Seva Yatra in 2011 and Adhikar Yatra in 2013.

All the three state-wide tours had commenced from Bettiah.
