Nitish reviews flood situation in Bihar

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday inspected the flood situation across Bihar and asked the authorities to launch relief and rehabilitation measures for the affected people.

Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday inspected the flood situation across Bihar and asked the
authorities to launch relief and rehabilitation measures for
the affected people.

Kumar carried out aerial survey of the flood-affected
region like Bhagalpur, Katihar, Navgachhia, Munger, Khagaria,
Begusarai, Bhojpur, Chapra, Buxur, Vaishali, Samastipur,
Lakhisarai and Patna to take stock of situation of the flood
situation.

He directed the officials of the flood-affected districts
to provide relief materials, including polythene sheets, to
the affected people as per the guidelines laid down for the
purpose of relief and rehabilitation measures.

Kumar further directed the district officials to keep
abreast with the flood situation round-the-clock and monitor
relief and rescue measures.

The Chief Minister said that the health department has
been directed to arrange for medicines and DDT sprays to check
outbreak of diseases once the flood subsided.

Kumar said that several areas across the state have been
flooded due to spate in the rivers like Kosi, Ganga, Bagmati,
Gandak, but the state government was competent to deal with
the situation.
