Paswan releases list of 58 candidates

LJP Chief Ramvilas Paswan on Friday released the list of party candidates for the 58 assembly seats in Bihar.

Patna: LJP Chief Ramvilas Paswan on Friday released the list of party candidates for the 58 assembly seats in Bihar, fielding his both brothers Pashupati Kumar Paras and Ramchandra Paswan from Alauli and Kusheshwar Asthan constituency respectively.

Paswan released his much-awaited list of 58 of the 75 seats it would contest under the seat-sharing accord with the RJD fighting from rest 168 of the 243 assembly constituencies, at a press conference.
He said the names of the rest 17 candidates of his party would be made available in a day or two. Referring to the list, LJP supremo claimed that he had paid due attention to social equation and allotted tickets to all sections of the society.

"We have in this list given tickets to 17 upper caste leaders and ten Muslims, besides due representation to other extremely backward, weaker sections of the society," he claimed.
Paswan has fielded his brother and state LJP president Paras from Alauli in Khagaria district, the seat still held by him. He has also nominated another brother and former MP
Ramchandra Paswan from Kusheshwar Asthan (SC) in Samastipur district.

According to the list, the sitting MLAs Maheshwar Prasad Singh, Ramakishore Singh, Vijendra Choudhary, Vijay Kumar Singh alias Doubloo Singh, have been renominated.
