RCP Singh and Upendra Kushwaha file nomination for RS

The ruling Janata Dal (United) candidates Ram Chandra Prasad Singh and Upendra Kushwaha today filed their nominations for the biennial Rajya Sabha polls.

filed their nominations for the biennial Rajya Sabha polls.

The two leaders submitted their nomination papers to
the Vidhan Sabha Secretary Surendra Sharma, also the Returning
Officer for the RS polls, in his office.

Singh and Kushwaha were accompanied by senior JD(U)
leaders for filing of nomination.

Altogether five candidates have filed their nomination
for as many RS seats from Bihar going to polls on June 17
next, if required.

The last date for nomination is June 10 next.
Backed by BSP and Independents, Bangalore-based social
worker B G Uday filed nomination at the fag end of the day
raising the number of candidates in the fray to six for five
seats.

A candidate requires 41 votes for victory.

The scrutiny of nomination papers will take place
tomorrow, while the last date of withdrawal of candidature is
June 10.
