Hajipur (Bihar): Lynching of a middle
aged dalit man allegedly by some upper caste people has
sparked violence at a village in Bihar`s Vaishali district, in
which an attempt was made to torch a house, official sources
said on Sunday.

Lalbabu Paswan (55) was beaten to death at Gurmiya
village under Kartahan police station for taking cattle
through a piece of land belonging to the upper caste people,
damaging cauliflower plants on Friday evening.

Angry with the killing, a section of dalits from the
village held protests yesterday and made an abortive attempt
to burn a house, the sources said.
