Two youths shot as they protect sister against harassment in Bihar

A youth was killed while his brother was battling for life after being shot by miscreants when they duo tried to stop them from harassing their sister in a village in Nalanda district of Bihar.

Biharsharif: A youth was killed while his brother was battling for life after being shot by miscreants when they duo tried to stop them from harassing their sister in a village in Nalanda district of Bihar.

The incident happened at Siwanpur village in Noorsarai police station area last night.

While Gaya Gope died on the spot, his sibling Lalu Gope has been admitted to a government hospital and is stated to be in critical condition.

Biharsharif Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Law and Order (L&O) Sanjay Kumar said, "Miscreants led by Ashok Yadav and Pappu Yadav had indulged in eve-teasing a girl in the village on Tuesday morning. Her brothers Gaya and Lalu opposed it and an argument took place over the incident."

"In revenge, Ashok and Pappu ambushed Gaya and Lalu while they were carrying food to their farm last night. They fired several rounds at the victims," the DSP added.

The police has registered an FIR in the incident and a manhunt has been launched to nab the assailants who fled after the incident. The body has been sent for postmortem.
