2 CRPF jawans in Chhattisgrah Naxal attack

Two jawans of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were injured in two separate incidents of attack by Naxals in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh on Friday.

Raipur: Two jawans of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were injured in two separate incidents of attack by Naxals in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh on Friday.

Earlier in the month, on March 12, two BSF jawans were killed and four others injured in a gun-battle with naxals in Kanker district of Chhattishgarh.

The attack came a day after a CRPF jawan was killed and four others, including two Deputy Commandants, were injured in an IED blast in Sukma district.

On March 4, three CRPF commandos have been killed and over a dozen injured after multiple encounters took place between security forces and Naxals in the same district.

The Chhattisgarh government had recently said that said 128 Naxals and 100 policemen were killed in gun battles over the last three years in the state.

A maximum of 52 Naxals were gunned down in Bijapur, where 14 security personnel also lost their lives during this period. Also, 48 policemen and 29 Naxals were killed in Sukma district.

Moreover, a total of 852 Naxal cadres surrendered in the state in the last three years.
