CRPF commando injured in anti-Naxal operation in Chhattisgarh

A CRPF commando sustained bullet injuries during an anti-Naxal operation in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district on Thursday.

Raipur: A CRPF commando sustained bullet injuries during an anti-Naxal operation in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district on Thursday.

Officials said Sub-Inspector Rajveer Singh of CRPF's exclusive jungle warfare unit CoBRA sustained bullet injuries on his chest when his patrol team engaged in an encounter with Maoists in the jungles of Dabbanarka of Sukma district in south Bastar at about 12.30 pm.

 

They said the officer of the 208th CoBRA battalion has been evacuated and rushed to hospital.

Security forces personnel, including those from Central Reserve Police Force, CoBRA and state police, are combing the area, they said.
