A 13-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped by four youths in Chhattisgarh's Durg district, police said on Wednesday.

Raipur: A 13-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped by four youths in Chhattisgarh's Durg district, police said on Wednesday.

Two of the accused - Malkeet Singh (24) and Ravi Chouhan (19) - were arrested last evening for allegedly raping the minor in Kohka area under Supela police station limits of Bhilai region, SHO Jagdish Mishra told PTI.

The two others involved in the crime have also been identified and a search is on to nab them, he said.

On February 2, the victim - a class VI student- was returning home from a nearby shop when the four accused riding on two motorbikes approached the girl and offered her a lift.

They then took her to a nearby isolated place where Malkeet and Ravi sexually assaulted her, Mishra said, adding that the four accused then fled from there.

On reaching home, the girl informed her mother about the offence, but the latter refused to report the matter to police at that time.

However, a few days later she agreed to lodge a complaint in this connection, the police officer said.

Based on the complaint, two of the accused were nabbed yesterday. The others involved in the offence will be arrested soon, he said.

The accused were booked under IPC sections 363 (abduction), 376(d)(gang-rape) and 377 (unnatural sex) and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act-2012, the SHO said, adding that further probe is on.
