New Delhi: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, who is on a two-day visit to Chhattisgarh, will visit Bastar on Sunday where he is scheduled to inaugurate a newly built fortified police station in Sukma and visit a CRPF camp.

Security has been beefed up in Bastar where thousands of security personnel, including CRPF, STF (special task force) and CAF (Chhattisgarh Armed force) have been deployed.

Patrolling has been intensified in the interior forest pockets and inter-state borders to check suspicious movements, a police official said.

Ahead of Home Minister Rajnath Singh's visit to Chhattisgarh on Saturday, security forces have recovered two powerful tiffin bombs from Naxal-hit Sukma district's Dornapal region.

"The explosives, planted by Naxals, were recovered by a joint team of security personnel near Misma village on Sukma-Dornapal route under Dornapal Police Station limits yesterday," Sukma Sub-Divisional Officer of Police, Prafulla Kispotta had said.

The joint party of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and district force was patrolling Sukma-Dornpal route when they found two tiffins containing Improvised Explosive Device (IED), weighing 10 kg each, placed beneath the ground near Misma, located nearly 450 kms away from here, he said.

The IEDs were immediately destroyed by the bomb disposal squad at the spot, the SDOP said.
