Amit Shah cleans garbage, plants sapling on Good Governance Day

BJP President Amit Shah on Thursday cleaned garbage and planted a sapling of 'neem' tree as the Municipal Corporations held a series of events across the city to mark Good Governance Day on the occasion of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's birthday.

New Delhi: BJP President Amit Shah on Thursday cleaned garbage and planted a sapling of 'neem' tree as the Municipal Corporations held a series of events across the city to mark Good Governance Day on the occasion of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's birthday.

Shah participated in a 'Shramdaan' event at Government Colony, Albert Square in Sector C of Gole Market where he removed dirt along with Delhi BJP President Satish Upadhyay and Meenakshi Lekhi, BJP MP from New Delhi constituency .

Shah, whose party's focus is now on upcoming Delhi Asssembly elections, also planted a neem sapling in a park in the area.

The event was organsied New Delhi Municipal Council.

Municipal Corporations of South, North and East Delhi also held a number of events like cleanliness drive, motivational lectures, tree plantation in several parts of the city to mark good governance day.

They also distributed blankets to the homesless people in certain areas.
