Arvind Kejriwal chooses metro to reach Ramlila Maidan for swearing-in ceremony

New Delhi: Delhi chief minister designate Arvind Kejriwal along with his cabinet ministers will take metro train for the swearing-in ceremony at Ramlila Maidan on Saturday.

Kejriwal said that his family will also reach the venue just like the other citizens and will sit in public. The swearing-in ceremony is open for common people, he added.

Kejriwal has also requested Anna Hazare, Kiran Bedi and former Karnataka Lokayukta Santosh Hegde to attend the ceremony. However, he on Friday said that Hazare will not be able to come to Ramlila Maidan due to his poor health conditions.

Delhi lieutenant governor Najeeb Jung will administer oath of office and secrecy to Kejriwal and six other ministers.

Delhi Police commandos and bomb squads will also be deployed along with anti-riot police and vehicles at the venue. Moreover, special arrangement will be made by traffic department for hassle-free movement of vehicles.

The former income tax official has assured to finish Delhi`s VIP culture. Neither he nor his MLAs will use the red light beacon on their vehicles. Furthermore, they have also refused large government bungalows.
