Arvind Kejriwal must sack Somnath Bharti immediately, says Delhi BJP

Taking attack to Delhi Law Minister Somnath Bharti over his midnight raid against women involved in sex trade and drug trafficking, BJP met Delhi Commissioner BS Bassi to prise him of inaction.

New Delhi: Taking the attack to Delhi Law Minister Somnath Bharti over his controversial recent midnight raid against women who he alleged were involved in the sex trade and drug trafficking, a BJP delegation on Thursday met capital`s Commissioner of Police to apprise him of inaction in the matter.
Talking to scribes, Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party leader Vijay Goel said, “A BJP delegation met Commissioner of Police BS Bassi and told him that the Delhi Police is not taking any action against the Aam Aadmi Party minister, who misbehaved with women.”

Goel added that he was assured of action by the Delhi Police Commissioner. “He has assured us that the case against Somnath Bharti is cognizable and non-bailable. They are collecting evidence,” Goel said.

He demanded that the Delhi CM take action against his errant minister and said, “The Arvind Kejriwal government must sack Somnath Bharti immediately.”
Meanwhile, a Delhi court today set January 25 as the next date for further argument after another Ugandan national moved court, seeking the filing of an FIR against Bharti over the controversial recent midnight raid.

Somnath Bharti and his supporters have been accused of illegally detaining Ugandan women and forcing them to give medical tests.

Bharti had alleged that a sex trade and drug peddling racket was flourishing in the locality with the help of foreign nationals.

He had demanded that the police take action against the offenders.
