New Delhi: Piling up pressure on Chief
Minister Sheila Dikshit to quit, BJP on Wednesday held rallies at 26
places across the city, demanding her arrest on the basis of
Shunglu Committee report which blamed her for alleged
bunglings in certain CWG projects.

The BJP, which has intensified attack on Dikshit
following arrest of sacked Organising Committee chief Suresh
Kalmadi, said the Chief Minister must resign "immediately" so
that probe agencies can conduct investigations into the
irregularities in an impartial manner.
A group of BJP supporters led by BJP General Secretary
Vijay Goel staged a protest outside Dikshit`s 3-Motilal Nehru
Marg residence, demanding her immediate resignation. Some of
the protesters including Goel were briefly detained by police
when they tried to break a barricade.

"She must be arrested as her role in the
irregularities has been adequately highlighted by the Shunglu
Committee report," said Goel.

Addressing a separate rally, Delhi BJP chief Vijender
Gupta demanded her immediate resignation to ensure free and
fair probe into the allegations.
"Dikshit should resign to ensure free and fair probe,"
he said.

Gupta also accused Dikshit of trying to divert
attention from the CWG irregularities by deciding to split the
MCD into five smaller bodies.

"We will intensify our agitation against Dikshit in
the coming days. She will have to face action for the
wrongdoings," said Gupta.
