BJP worker shot dead in Delhi

Asharam, a property dealer and Vice President of the BJP's SC/ST Cell in the Kirari area, was shot twice by unidentified assailant around 8.45 pm on Wednesday. 

New Delhi: A 46-year-old BJP worker was shot dead by unidentified assailant in Aman Vihar area here, the police said on Thursday.

Asharam, a property dealer and Vice President of the Bharatiya Janata Party`s SC/ST Cell in the Kirari area, was shot twice by unidentified assailant around 8.45 p.m. on Wednesday.

"Asharam was sitting with his wife Sunita at his office in Aman Vihar in outer district. The unidentified assailant barged into the office and shot at him. The accused fled the spot," a senior police officer said.

Asharam was rushed to nearby Sanjay Gandhi Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

A murder case was registered against unknown persons at the Aman Vihar police station, the officer said.

Asharam was staying in Pravesh Nagar in Aman Vihar area with his wife and three children. The police are investigating if enmity was the motive behind the murder.
