New Delhi: It was a bright morning with clear skies in Delhi on Sunday, the day the Commonwealth Games begin. The weatherman forecast a dry spell in the coming days.

"No rainfall was recorded from any part in the city. There are no chances of rainfall Sunday or in the coming days. The skies are predicted to remain clear," said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The minimum temperature recorded was 24.6 degrees Celsius, four notches above average for this time of the season while the maximum is expected to hover around 34.2 degrees.

The maximum humidity level was recorded at a high of 92 percent while the minimum was 39 percent, the official said.

The capital witnessed one of its wettest monsoons this year. The rainfall received so far crossed 1,031.5 mm - around 56 percent above the seasonal average.
