Congress demands FIR against Kumar Vishwas for procuring passport on forged NOC

Congress on Saturday demanded registration of an FIR against AAP leader Kumar Vishwas for allegedly submitting forged no-objection certificate (NOC) for procuring passport.

Ghaziabad: Congress on Saturday demanded registration of an FIR against AAP leader Kumar Vishwas for allegedly submitting forged no-objection certificate (NOC) for procuring passport.

Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) spokesman Rajeev Tyagi said Vishwas allegedly submitted a forged NOC purportedly signed by Sahibabad-based Lajpat Rai (PG) College Principal Sanjay Dutt Kaushik before passport authorities for procuring a Tatkal Passport.

Vishwas was not immediately available for comment.

When contacted, Kaushik said "no such NOC has been issued by him to Kumar Vishwas having his signatures. The NOC, if any has been submitted before passport authorities, is forged. Even, I am not a competent authority to sign and issue such NOCs."

He also said that Vishwas had resigned only ten days before from the college.

"The police during its verification process had contacted me to vouch the NOC report, to which I had denied of issuing any such document," he said.

Stating that slapping a penalty of Rs 5,000 on Vishwas was inept, Tyagi said it was not only a matter of suppression of information under Section 12(1)(B) of Passport Act, 1967, for which pecuniary penalties are imposed on applicants, but also an offence punishable under appropriate sections of IPC, and demanded registration of an FIR.

He also said that AAP leader has been exposed and can't be expected to lead the masses honestly.
