Delhi govt to upgrade major hospitals before CWG

Delhi Government is in the process of upgrading major hospitals in the city ahead of the upcoming Commonwealth Games.

New Delhi: Delhi Government is in the
process of upgrading major hospitals in the city ahead of the
upcoming Commonwealth Games.

Health care facilities at all the major hospitals are
being upgraded in view of the mega sporting event, Health
Minister Kiran Walia said today.

She was speaking after inaugurating a primary health
centre-cum-dispensary in Sector 17 in Dwarka.

Walia said her department has already identified
hospitals for offering health care facilities to sportspersons
and official delegates of the event.

"We are setting up separate wards in these selected
hospitals," she said.

The health centre at Dwarka has been set up at a cost
of Rs 86 lakh. 190 such Primary Health Centres are already
functional in different parts of the capital.

Walia said such primary health centres will soon be
opened at Janakpuri, Sector-14 Dwarka, Tikri Kalan and Bank
Enclave.
