The Delhi Police, Friday, recovered one AK-47 rifle and one SLR from a plot of land owned by ex-Delhi MLA Rambeer Shokken.

New Delhi: The Delhi Police, Friday, recovered one AK-47 rifle and one SLR from a plot of land owned by ex-Delhi MLA Rambeer Shokken.

The police made the recovery on the instance of gangster Neeraj Bawana, who was arrested by the police earlier this week. Shokeen is Bawana’s uncle.

As per reports, the recovered arms were looted from Uttarakhand Police at the time of escape of sharp-shooter Amit Kumar alias Bhura from Bhagpat in December 2014.

Bhura was freed by members of the Sunil Rathi gang, who were arrested later.  They later, reportedly, told investigators that the conspiracy to free Bhura was hatched at the office of Rambir Shokeen in outer Delhi.

Bhura was also nabbed by the police earlier this month from Patiala in Punjab.

Rambeer Shokeen had won the Mundka seat in outer Delhi in 2013 assembly elections.  As the verdict was fractured that time, Shokeen had gained a lot of political weight then.

He had openly expressed his desire to join the BJP on the condition that he is made Deputy CM. Later he joined the Congress in Jan 2015.
