Delhi student opens fires at classmate in school

A clash between two groups of students in a south Delhi school Wednesday took an ugly turn when a Class IX student allegedly opened fire on a schoolmate, leaving him injured.

New Delhi: A clash between two groups of
students in a south Delhi school Wednesday took an ugly turn when
a Class IX student allegedly opened fire on a schoolmate,
leaving him injured.

The shocking incident took place in Veer Chandra
Garwhal Public School in Saket at around 9.00 am and the injured
has been identified as Gaurav Yadav, a Class VIII student.

The firing took place during a clash between two
groups of students over some issue, a senior police official
said.

"The Class IX student had brought a .22 pistol to the
school. During the fight, he allegedly opened fire in which
Gaurav suffered minor injuries on his shoulder," the official
said.

Gaurav was rushed to AIIMS Trauma Centre from where he
was discharged after treatment, he said.

The student who allegedly opened fire has been taken
into police custody.
