Also, the Met office has forecast light rains and thundershowers in parts of the city.

"The skies will be partly cloudy. Very light rain, thundershowers and thunderstorms could occur in some areas," the weatherman said.

The city has received traces of rainfall in the last 24 hours.

The minimum temperature was recorded three notches above the season's average at 28.2 degrees Celsius.

The maximum temperature is expected to hover at 42 degrees, the weatherman added.

Yesterday, the maximum temperature had settled at 42.3 degree Celsius while the minimum temperature was 26.2 degrees Celsius.
