DTC workers seek LG help on medical scheme, regularisation

The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) employees` union on Tuesday urged Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung to resolve issues regarding cashless medical scheme and regularisation of contract workers.

New Delhi: The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) employees` union on Tuesday urged Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung to resolve issues regarding cashless medical scheme and regularisation of contract workers.

In his letter to the LG, president of the DTC Employees Congress, Ramesh Vats, said that although Delhi government had two years back constituted a high-level committee of five senior officials to look into the issues of DTC workers, the panel is yet to submit its report.
"We have not received any response from the committee, due to which there is great resentment among DTC workers, including drivers and conductors. DTC employees hope that you will help us in this regard," Vats tells Jung in the letter.
The letter raises demands like cashless medical scheme for existing and retired employees, pension to all employees, workers` participation in the decision-making process, regularisation of contract workers and removal of annual maintenance contract.

"We have also requested the LG to hold a meeting with the representatives of the union so that we can explain the other issues," he told PTI.
