DU takes steps to check fake documents

Last year a number of students were charged for forging marksheets and submitting fake documents to get entry into the University.

New Delhi: After being hit by a fake marksheet scam, the Delhi University has issued special instructions to colleges to make their verification process foolproof.

Ramjas and Dyal Singh Colleges were majorly hit by the scams unearthed in the last year.

In response to a question raised on the issue in Lok Sabha on Wednesday, Minister of State for Human Resource Development E Ahamed, said the University has issued instructions to the officials concerned in this regard.
The University has "issued instructions to all the principals of the colleges, Heads of Departments, Deans of the Faculties to get the certificates of the candidates belonging to the reserved categories from the issuing authorities", he said.
