New Delhi: Former Delhi Law Minister Jitender Singh Tomar on Friday had to face ire of student activists of AISA, Rashtriya Lok Samata Party and LJP who threw rotten tomatoes, eggs and ink at him after he was brought to Bihar's Bhagalpur district as part of a probe into his alleged fake degree case.

According to news channels, as Tomar was leaving Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University after the probe was over, a group of students attacked him and also raised slogans against the former Delhi law minister.

The protesting students said they were angry with Tomar for bringing disrepute to the university. The AAP leader is being investigated for allegations that he forged his law degree from this Bihar university.

Meanwhile, Tomar, who quit as Delhi Law Minister on Tuesday after being arrested on charges of furnishing false degrees, was today confirmed to have passed law examination in 1998-99 from a Bihar college.

Officials present during the questioning of Tomar, who was brought from Delhi by police at Biswanath Law College in Munger, said on condition of anonymity that college registers revealed that the former minister had enrolled in it under roll number 10136 in 1994-95 session.

It was also found that Tomar had appeared for the law examination in 1994-95 and 1995-96 sessions but did not appear in 1996-97 as he had failed. Later, he appeared again in 1998-99 and got the degree, the officials said.

Tomar was questioned for over three hours in Principal RK Mishra's room in his presence, the officials said.

Some AAP workers assembled at the college gate and raised slogans against BJP for 'targeting' their party.

However, the local address given by Tomar during registration in the college was found to be 'not correct', the officials said.

Tomar had given his local address as Agrahan village but the villagers did not confirm that he stayed there during the period.

A Delhi Police team, led by Assistant Commissioner of Police SP Tyagi, then took him to Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University under which the college is affiliated.

The police had earlier taken him to Faizabad in Uttar Pradesh from where Tomar claims to have got his graduation degree in Science and to Munger in Bihar where he says he attended law college.

As per media reports, "upset" with Jitender Singh Tomar, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is understood to be contemplating withdrawing his legal aide HS Phoolka and even expelling the former Law Minister from Aam Aadmi Party.

Two senior party leaders indicated that Tomar could face expulsion from AAP as there is a feeling in the top leadership that he had "misled" them on the issue.
