Girl rescued in Delhi

A girl, allegedly abducted from neighbouring Shamli district in July, was rescued from Delhi and a youth has been arrested in this connection.

Muzaffarnagar: A girl, allegedly abducted from neighbouring Shamli district in July, was rescued from Delhi and a youth has been arrested in this connection.

Police said the 18-year-old student was abducted on June 4 and kept in Delhi. Her parents had lodged a complaint against a youth, Himachal Singh, in this connection.

Police rescued the girl, who was allegedly being held in captivity by Himachal Singh, from Ashok Vihar in the national capital and arrested him.

In a separate case, a man lodged a complaint against a youth yesterday accusing him of threatening his daughter after she spurned his advances at Almaspur village.

According to SHO of New Mandi police station AK Singh, a case has been registered against the youth Vikas Kashyap, who is absconding.

The father of the victim alleged that Kashyap, who belongs to a different community, had threatened his 20-year-old daughter of dire consequences if she did not marry him.
