New Delhi: The three main accused arrested in connection with Delhi honour killing case were on Friday remanded to 14 days judicial custody by a Garhmukteshwar court in UP.

Delhi Police had asked for their custody for further leads into the triple murder investigation after production warrants were issued against all accused.

The breakthrough in the case comes a day after Delhi Police released the photographs of the murderers and declared a reward for anyone giving crucial information on the trio wanted in the case.

The incident first came to light on June 21 when Delhi Police recovered the blood-stained bodies of 26-year-old Kuldeep and Monica, 24, from near their residence in Ashok Vihar locality in the capital. The case took a serious turn when the body of Monica`s cousin, Shobha, was also found barely 300 metres away from their residence the next day.

All three victims- Kuldeep, Monica and Shobha – were from the same family in West Delhi. Monica is the sister of Ankit and Mandeep is Shobha’s brother. Shobha had helped Monica elope in past to marry Kuldeep against her parents’ wishes. Shobha was also in love with a man her parents did not approve of.

Police feel that the perpetrators of the crime could have been enraged over inter-caste marriages in the family which apparently started with Monica, 24, who was followed by her cousin sister Shobha.

Mandeep`s another sister Khushbu, who too has married a man belonging to a different community, is under police protection.
