ITBP assistant commandant found dead in barrack

An Assistant Commandant of the Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) was today found dead under mysterious circumstances in his camp in southeast Delhi, police said here.

New Delhi: An Assistant Commandant of the
Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) was today found dead under
mysterious circumstances in his camp in southeast Delhi,
police said here.

The incident was reported from Sangam Vihar this evening
when a colleague discovered his body at around 4:30 pm. The
victim has been identified as Ravi Khangwal (29).

Police suspect it to be a case of suicide as there are
no external injuries on Khangwal`s body.

Officials are investigating if he committed suicide by
consuming poisonous substances. No suicide note has been
recovered. The body has been sent for post mortem.

The victim was a resident of Faridabad and had joined
ITBP two years ago and was posted with the 22nd battalion of
the paramilitary force.

According to a police official, he returned to the camp
this morning after a five-day leave.

"He was the only officer who resided in the barracks
where he was found dead," the official said.
