New Delhi: A Delhi court on Saturday framed charges against three accused in the murder of IT executive Jigisha Ghosh, paving the way for start of trial in April.

"There is prima facie sufficient evidence against the
accused to frame the charges," Additional Sessions Judge S K
Sarvaria said.

The court framed charges against accused Ravi Kapoor,
Amit Shukla and Baljit Singh Malik under various provisions of
the IPC and the Arms Act, dealing with murder, criminal
conspiracy, abduction, robbery, forgery and using firearms.

It has fixed the matter on April 8, next year for
recording of testimonies of prosecution witnesses.

Earlier, Amit Kumar, defence counsel, opposed framing
of charges saying "there were glaring discrepancies in the
police investigation."

"According to parents of the victim, she was wearing
brown colour trousers and shirt on the day of incident. But
the doctors, who performed autopsy on her, said she was
wearing a white shirt and coca cola colour trousers," he said.

Ghosh, 28, was killed on March 18 this year while
returning from a call centre. The recovery of the weapon
allegedly used in the murder of the IT executive had led to
the cracking of the killing of Soumya Vishwanathan, a
journalist with a news channel.
