Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday discussed with officials the revitalisation plan of the Yamuna river and beautification of its banks.

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday discussed with officials the revitalisation plan of the Yamuna river and beautification of its banks.

A presentation on revitalisation of Yamuna was given to Kejriwal, PWD Minister Satyendra Jain and other senior officials.

According a senior government official present in the meeting, beautification of the banks of Yamuna in the national capital was also discussed.

The official also said that as the plan was at its very initial stage, no decision was taken in this regard.

Concerned over lack of coordination and cooperation between various departments in cleaning river Yamuna, the National Green Tribunal had in March said it has all the "trappings of the civil court" and its directions on this and other issues should be complied with without any "default and delay".

The Tribunal had also expressed regret that "none of the agencies has taken any effective steps in furtherance to the judgement of the Tribunal at the ground level".
