New Delhi: Congress' prospects in Sunday’s prestigious by-elections to Kadapa Lok Sabha and Pulivendula assembly seats is understood to have come up for discussion when Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy met Sonia Gandhi here.

Congress is locked in a intense battle in Kadapa with its former MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy and TDP's MV Mysura Reddy.

It is also putting up a spirited fight in Pulivendula, where late YS Rajasekhara Reddy's wife Vijayalaxmi is seeking reelection.

The prospects of the ruling party in the by-elections, necessitated after the father-mother dup quit their post after exiting the Congress in November, 2010, was believed to have discussed.

Reddy met Gandhi at her 10, Janpath residence and they are also understood to have discussed other issues relating to the state.
