New Delhi: Despite much furore, Aam Aadmi Party leader Kumar Vishwas, Wednesday, did not appear before the Delhi Commission for Women on a complaint filed by a female activist of his own party for not dispelling rumours that he has illicit relationship with her.

Talking to reporters, DCW chairperson Barkha Shukla Singh said despite being issued a fresh summon, Kumar Vishwas didn't appear today. The complainant and her husband are here, added Singh.

AAP is a party of traitors, it is not concerned about women, said Singh.

Meanwhile, the husband of the complainant said he just wanted the AAP leader and his wife to appear before DCW and clarify that nothing happened.

I trust my wife but my relatives have their doubts, added the husband.

Earlier this morning, Barkha Shukla Singh had described a high-voltage drama which took place during a press conference called by the Delhi Commission for Women yesterday to discuss issue of Vishwas as "pre-planned".

Saying that Aam Aadmi Party founder Arvind Kejriwal does emotional drama, Singh said the Delhi Chief Minister will never be successful in his motives.

She further hit out at Kumar Vishwas, asking if the poet-cum-politician is not wrong, why is he not coming out to save the family life of a woman.

“We are not saying that Kumar Vishwas is wrong, but why is he not coming, what is the problem in that,” said Singh, a day after the AAP leader did not appear before DCW despite reportedly being issued a summon. After Kumar Vishwas said he had not got any notice, fresh summon was issued to appear before DCW on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal described the personal attack on his colleague Kumar Vishwas as "despicable" and said the AAP will no more respond on the issue.

Kejriwal told media that the Aam Aadmi Party would prefer to be silent as families of party leaders were being targeted in the name of politics.

"The way Kumar Vishwas and his family were targeted by the media, I think it was despicable."

Kejriwal said the issue had hit Kumar Vishwas' family hard.

"Vishwas' family is under depression. His daughter is being asked in school what relations her father has (with this woman)," the AAP leader said.

Earlier in the day, a press conference called by the DCW over the issue broke up in acrimony as one of the members said Kumar Vishwas was being framed and announced her exit from the women's panel.

As DCW chief Barkha Singh prepared to address the media, panel member Juhi Khan, sitting beside her, told the journalists that Kumar Vishwas was innocent and was being framed.

She also accused Barkha Singh, who is from the Congress party, of trying to "gain political mileage" out of the matter.

Upon this, an upset Barkha Singh accused Khan of being an AAP member.

Khan then walked out and declared that she was quitting the DCW.
