More trouble for AAP! Sacked minister Sandeep Kumar's aide detained for leaking, circulating sex video

New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Monday detained Praveen Kumar, the aide to ousted Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sandeep Kumar in connection with a sex scandal, said a media report.

Praveen was detained from the Delhi Secretariat today afternoon. His detention took place as the tainted minister suspected the secretary behind the leaking of videos.

As per the report, Praveen reportedly circulated the objectionable CD that featured the expelled AAP minister Sandeep Kumar in a compromising position with a woman in it.

Sandeep, an MLA from Sultanpur Majra in Delhi was arrested last week on rape and other charges following a complaint by a woman who purportedly figured in an objectionable CD with him. He was also suspended from AAP after the scandal came to light.

Sandeep, who joined the Delhi cabinet as its youngest minister, was booked on charges of rape, transmission of material containing sexually explicit act and taking illegal gratification.

In her complaint, the woman alleged that around 11 months ago, she was raped by him when she had gone to his office in outer Delhi’s Sultanpuri seeking help to obtain a ration card.

Sandeep was removed from the AAP government last week by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal after the CD purportedly showing him in compromising position with the woman surfaced.

On Sunday, the expelled AAP leader was sent to one-day police custody. As his custody ends today, he will be produced before a magisterial court in Rohini later in the day.
