New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Sheila
Dikshit on Thursday exhorted citizens and students to imbibe civic
sense to present the city in a better way to the world during
next year`s Commonwealth Games.

There is a need to imbibe civic sense among students
and citizens of the city, Dikshit told a function organised to
award best performing government schools.
In September, Union Home Minister P Chidambaram had
asked residents to "behave as citizens of a big, good
international city" during the mega sporting event.

Dikshit also appealed to the students and teachers to
render their full cooperation in making the Games a great
success.

While presenting Indira Awards 2009 to best schools,
best teachers and students, she paid rich tributes to Indira
Gandhi on her 92nd birth anniversary.
"The city government has left no stone unturned in
providing necessary infrastructure in schools," she said,
adding almost all the government schools in Delhi are being
spruced up under the `Roopantar` scheme.

"It is expected that all schools will get face lift by
next year," she said.
