Rajnath Singh condemns attack on convent school in Delhi

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday condemned the attack on Holy Child Auxilium School in the national capital and urged the Delhi Police to conduct a speedy inquiry into the matter.

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday condemned the attack on Holy Child Auxilium School in the national capital and urged the Delhi Police to conduct a speedy inquiry into the matter.

"Strongly condemn the vandalisation of a school building in Delhi. Spoke to CP Delhi regarding this incident before leaving for Manipur today," Singh tweeted.

"I instructed the CP Delhi to conduct a speedy inquiry into this incident and find out the culprits responsible for this attack," he said in another tweet.

In wake of the attack on Holy Child Auxilium School, Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier in the day summoned Delhi Police Commissioner B.S. Bassi and expressed deep concern and anguish over the rising crime rate in the national capital.

Prime Minister Modi asked Bassi to speedily investigate the recent incidents of vandalism. He also asked the Police Commissioner to ensure that the guilty are brought to book.

Union Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani today visited the school located in Vasant Vihar area of South Delhi. She met with the faculty and reviewed the overall situation arising out of the incident with them as well as with the area police officers.
