A robber, who was evading police for the past 13 years, has finally landed in custody.

New Delhi: A robber, who was evading
police for the past 13 years, has finally landed in custody.

Vijay John, who was allegedly involved in a robbery in
Govindpuri, was arrested from Krishna Market in Kalkaji
yesterday, a senior police official said.

John, who was declared a proclaimed offender by a
court in 1998, along with his two associates Naveen and Deepak
had allegedly attacked a security guard Lal Bahadur and robbed
him in April 1998.
While Deepak and Naveen were arrested from the spot,
John managed to flee and was evading police for the past 13
years.

John, who was earlier residing in Kalkaji, left his
residence and shifted to Lakkarpur in Faridabad.
"He returned to Delhi last year and settled in
Govindpuri. We received an information on his whereabouts
and he was arrested," the official said.
