Rs 79 cr collected from Delhi Airport parking during last 3 yr

Over Rs 79 crore were collected as parking charges alone at Indira Gandhi International Airport during last three years, Lok Sabha was informed.

as parking charges alone at Indira Gandhi International
Airport during last three years, Lok Sabha was informed
on Wednesday.

At the Chatrapati Shivaji Airport in Mumbai the
collection of parking fee was over Rs 48 crore during the
period, Civil Aviation Minister Vayalar Ravi said in a written
reply.

"The details of amount collected during last three years
namely 2007-08, 2008-09, 2009-10 and current year i.e 2010-11
are: IGI Airport Delhi Rs 1,71,29,000, Rs 19,94,51,739, Rs
23,40,96,332 and Rs 34,73,30,000 (upto February 2011)," the
Minister said.

He said from CSI Airport, Mumbai Rs 11.62 crore, Rs
14.10, Rs 13.26 crore were collected during 2007-08, 2008-09,
2009-10 respectively. During 2010-11 (till December 2010), Rs
9.48 crore were collected.

"Consequent upon commencement of operations of T-3,
Delhi International Airport Private Limited levied parking
charges commensurate with the facilities. Parking charges at
airports including IGI Airport are levied by the respective
airport operator as per their business principles," the
Minister said.
