Tytler a ''killer'', says youth who attacked him

A Delhi court had rejected the CBI`s closure report on Tytler in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots case and directed the agency to investigate further.

New Delhi: Twenty-three years old Sehaj Umang Singh Bhatia, who had allegedly attacked 1984 anti-Sikh Riots accused Jagdish Tytler at a wedding party in south Delhi, stated that "it was ridiculous that someone who had killed 3,000 people was having fun".

"I called this man (Tytler) `hatyaara` (killer) and rioter. It`s ridiculous that in a country like ours somebody who has killed 3,000 people roams around freely having fun," Singh, told the media here. "And, if I speak my heart out in public I have to be reprimanded and taken to the police," he added.

Sehaj was taken into custody, but was later given bail.According to reports, the incident took place at 11 pm at a farm house in the Mehrauli area, where Tytler had gone to attend the wedding.

Tytler was accused of engineering riots against the Sikh community in the aftermath of Indira Gandhi`s assassination on 31 October 1984.
