Vishnu Garden building collapse: Delhi Minister Satyendra Jain inspects site, orders magisterial probe

Delhi PWD Minister Satyendra Jain along with Aam Aadmi Party MLA Jarnail Singh on Sunday took stock of the situation at a site in Vishnu Garden where a five-storey building collapsed in the morning hours, killing five people.

New Delhi: Delhi PWD Minister Satyendra Jain along with Aam Aadmi Party MLA Jarnail Singh on Sunday took stock of the situation at a site in Vishnu Garden where a five-storey building collapsed in the morning hours, killing five people.

Jain and Singh inspected the site and ordered probe into the matter.

“We have ordered a magisterial probe into matter. District Magistrate of the area will lead investigation and report will be given to Delhi government within seven days,” Jain was quoted as saying by ANI.

Meanwhile, Jarnail Singh held MCD responsible for the incident.

“This has happened due to corruption in MCD. They are playing with the lives of people,” ANI quoted Singh.

Five persons were killed and 18 injured when an under construction staff quarters of the Central University collapsed here.

Police and fire service personnel were searching whether more persons were trapped in the debris. A team of doctors had been rushed to the spot to give treatment and first aid, police said.
