Leopard captured from ordnance factory premises

A wild leopard was caught from thickets of Ordnance Factory Itarsi (OFI) premises located in Madhya Pradesh's Hoshangabad district here today, a forest official said.

Itarsi: A wild leopard was caught from thickets of Ordnance Factory Itarsi (OFI) premises located in Madhya Pradesh's Hoshangabad district here on Friday, a forest official said.

Forest department officials had installed a cage with bait in the OFI premises two days ago after a leopard was noticed in the area.

The spotted animal walked into the trap on Friday, Forest Area Sub Divisional Officer SS Mehta told PTI.

He said that later, the leopard was released in the wilds of the Satpura Tiger Reserve in the district.

Incidentally, only week ago, a leopard was trapped in the same manner in OFI premises, he said.

According to sources, three to four more leopards seem to dwell in and around OFI premises.
