Patna: Laying thrust on promoting eco-tourism in Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said his government would set up a task force led by Padmashree P K
Sen for developing eco-tourism.
"We will constitute a task force under Sen for promoting and developing eco-tourism in Bihar," Kumar said while presiding over the meeting of the State Wildlife Council
here.
Later, state Chief Wildlife Warden Mithilesh Kumar said the meeting decided to preserve, beautify and strengthen the Balmiki Tiger Reserve Sanctuary in West Champaran and set up another on 100 to 110 hectare in Rajigir.
The Balmikinagar Tiger Reserve Sanctuary would be developed for eco-tourism for which an action plan would be prepared, he said.
The meeting also decided to take steps for protecting vultures facing extiction. It discussed strategy for protecting the 0.288 km tunnel from Jamalpur to Ratanpur in
the sanctuary under Munger Forest Division.
