Dr Kane appointed as new Vice Chancellor of RTMNU

Maharashtra Governor and Chancellor of Universities in the state Ch Vidyasagar Rao appointed Dr Siddharthavinayaka Padmakar Kane as the new Vice Chancellor of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU), Nagpur.

Mumbai: Maharashtra Governor and Chancellor of Universities in the state Ch Vidyasagar Rao appointed Dr Siddharthavinayaka Padmakar Kane as the new Vice Chancellor of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU), Nagpur.

Kane, who was appointed yesterday, is presently serving as professor at the Post Graduate Teaching Department of Statistics at the RTMNU.

He has been appointed as Vice Chancellor for a term of 5 years from the date he assumes the charge of the Vice Chancellor office.

Kane, 56, holds a doctorate in Statistics and has a cumulative experience of 31 years as lecturer, reader and professor.

Dr Vinayak Deshpande has been serving as the Acting Vice Chancellor of the University.

The Governor had appointed a Search Committee under the chairmanship of Justice V S Sirpurkar, a retired Supreme Court judge, to recommend him a panel of names suitable for appointment to the post of Vice Chancellor.
