Maharashtra Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao on Monday said a search committee has been formed for selecting vice-chancellor of the Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University.

Mumbai: Maharashtra Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao on Monday said a search committee has been formed for selecting vice-chancellor of the Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University.

The committee will be headed by Justice VS Sirpurkar, a former judge of the Supreme Court, a release from the Raj Bhavan said.

Dr PB Kale, director, Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Rural Industrialisation, Wardha, nominated jointly by the academic council and management council of the university and Dr Sanjay Chahande, principal secretary, higher and technical education department, nominee of the state government, will be the other two members.

The post of vice-chancellor is vacant following the resignation of Dr VS Sapkal on March 30.
