BJP-Congress run on ill gotten money: AAP

Aam Admi Party (AAP) on Saturday accused BJP and Congress of running their affairs on donations collected from people who have got ill-gotten money or foreign funding.

Panaji: Aam Admi Party (AAP) on Saturday accused BJP and Congress of running their affairs on donations collected from people who have got ill-gotten money or foreign funding.

"Congress and BJP get huge funding from the sources who have got ill-gotten money. Almost 80 per cent of their funding comes from ill-gotten wealth or foreign funds, which is in utter violation of the law," AAP spokesman Manish Sisodia alleged at a public meeting in Goa today.

While on the one hand both the parties run on this kind of money and on the other hand, the Union Home Ministry "misinforms" the high court that AAP does not disclose their funding, he charged.

"We have details of our funding clear. We don`t accept even 25 paisa from foreign funding. Our bank accounts are open for scrutiny. If we have accepted any foreign funding, disqualify us," Sisodia said.

The AAP leader was here to campaign for Dattaram Desai and Swati Kerkar fielded by his party in North and South Goa constituencies respectively.

The Delhi High Court had on Friday asked the Centre and the Election Commission to take appropriate action against Congress and BJP for allegedly accepting foreign funds in violation of the law.
"When we tell the Home Ministry that we don`t receive any foreign funding, it goes to the high court and misinforms the judges that we are not disclosing our funding," Sisodia claimed at a meeting at historic Azad Maidan in Panaji.

The AAP leader also ridiculed the parallel drawn between Arvind Kejriwal and Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar.

"There is no parallel between the two leaders. Has Parrikar done anything to get the Jan Lokpal bill? Has he done anything to recover Rs 35,000 crore loot of the mining industry? Has he put any illegal miner in jail?" Sisodia said and added the Goa chief minister`s claims about austerity measures were also "fake".
