Vadodara: Congress leader Madhusudan Mistry, who has been fielded against BJP`s Prime Ministerial nominee Narendra Modi in Vadodara Lok Sabha seat, will address party workers here on Sunday.
This will be Mistry`s first visit to the city after being fielded against the BJP stalwart.
The AICC General Secretary will interact with workers as part of his preparations for the high-profile poll battle, Congress sources said here.
Mistry, a close aide of Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi, had expressed confidence about emerging victorious soon after his candidature was announced early this week.
"This was the moment I was waiting for years. Let Modi fight from Vadodara. I am very confident about defeating him," he had told.
Modi, who is also contesting from Varanasi, is on a campaign trail and touring all over the country.
He is likely to visit Vadodara on April 9 to file his nomination papers, according to BJP sources here.
Gujarat, which has 26 Lok Sabha seats, will vote on April 30.
