80% job reservation to locals if voted to power: Goa Forward

The regional party has promised that education of international standards from primary to university would be accorded top most priority.

Panaji: Newly-formed Goa Forward Party in its first-ever youth convention has promised 80 per cent job reservations to locals in the private sector if voted to power in the 2017 Goa Assembly polls.

"Goa Forward's prime agenda will be implementation of the policy of eighty per cent job reservation to Goans in private sector and cent per cent in public sector. This provision will be strictly implemented by forming watch-dog committees of youth," Goa Forward President Prabhakar Timblo told PTI after the convention yesterday.

In a slew of announcements to attract youths, the regional party has promised that education of international standards from primary to university would be accorded top most priority.

"The access to educational institutions of quality is the only way to empower youth in the modern age of technology and competition. Goa Forward will ensure that adequate funds are allocated to education at all levels for upgrading and consistent development of infrastructure, curriculum and human resources in education," Timblo said.

Goa will be developed as the "knowledge" hub with quality institutions in Research, Design, Science, Films, Information Technology and other sunrise areas, the party has said.
Goa Forward has said it will have an all out war against the drugs menace in the state.

In another announcement, the party said that taking in account the small and compact geographical size of Goa, the state will be equipped with free wi-fi facility across the talukas.
