Panaji: Goa Home Minister Ravi Naik said
that searches are on in Mumbai and other places to nab the
main accused who had given a "contract" to kill his son.
Naik told reporters on Saturday that the police was yet to nab
the accused whose name was given as Joe Boy (real name not
known) and had given the contract to kill his son and harm
other family members.
"Police are still searching for him. He is not in Goa.
The searches are on in Mumbai and other places where he is
believed to be hiding," the home minister said, adding that
Superintendent of Police (North) Arvind Gawas is personally
supervising the case.
The threat to home minister`s son and his family was
revealed by the police in September after one of the accused
arrested in a theft case told the investigating officers about
it.
Notorious criminal Micheal Fernandes had confessed
during his interrogation that he was given contract to kill
Naik`s son Roy.
The police had subsequently enhanced the security of the
minister`s family and special protection was provided to Roy.
