Surendra Shirsat appointed Goa NCP chief

Senior NCP leader Surendra Shirsat was on Tuesday appointed President of the party`s Goa unit.

New Delhi: Senior NCP leader Surendra Shirsat
was on Tuesday appointed President of the party`s Goa unit.
Shirsat, at present Vice President of the NCP`s Goa unit,
succeeds Jose Philip D`souza, who had resigned from the post
recently.

NCP supremo Sharad Pawar accepted the resignation of
D`souza and relieved him from the post with immediate effect,
party secretary S R Kohli said in a statement.
Shirsat was appointed following consultations with NCP
General Secretary Praful Patel, who is incharge of party
affairs in Goa and Prakash Binsale, the party observer for the
state.
