Ahmedabad: A foreign national was allegedly
molested by an auto rickshaw driver here, police said Monday.
"A case of rape has been registered against the auto
rickshaw driver this morning in Vastrapur police station
of the city," DCP (Zone I) Brijeshkumar Jha said.
The victim in her twenties, hailing from an East Asian
country works in a private firm here.
The incident took place yesterday night when she was
returning in an auto rickshaw after a party from Vastrapur
area, police said.
The auto driver forcibly took the victim to a secluded
place, they said, adding, he molested her and snatched her
mobile phone before fleeing the spot.
A complaint in this connection was registered with the
police by the victim`s friend this morning, they said.
