Delhi Traffic Police, Gujarat govt win e-governance award

The Public Diplomacy Division of External Affairs Ministry, Delhi Traffic Police and Gujarat Government today honoured for innovative use of social media and online initiatives.

New Delhi: The Public Diplomacy Division of External Affairs Ministry, Delhi Traffic Police and Gujarat Government were on Thursday honoured for innovative use of social media and online initiatives.
The India eGov 2.0 awards were set up by Elets Technomedia to reward government and PSU online initiatives for governance and social development in the country.

With aims to felicitate and acknowledge unique initiatives in the use of social media tools for creating interactive platforms to meet the larger social development goals, India eGov 2.0 awards were given for two categories --
best social media initiative and most user friendly website.

Ministry of External Affairs` Public Diplomacy Division along with Delhi Traffic Police and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi were the Editor`s Choice award winners in social media usage section.

The Jury award in this section went to CGnet Swara, a citizen journalist group from Chhatisgarh, IndiaWildlifeClub.com and Praja.in.

The most user friendly website (Jury Awards) went to the websites of Kerala Tourism Department, Orissa Government`s Information and Public Relations Department and Press Information Bureau.

The Editors` Award in this section went to Bharat
Petroleum, Gujarat Government and Madhya Pradesh Government.
